INFORMATION ON THE INDICATION OF THE DEFENSE EXAMINING BOARD FOR
DISSERTATION (MASTER DEGREE) OR THESIS (DOCTORAL DEGREE)

You need JavaScript enabled to view it The message should also contain, as an attachment, the preliminary version of the dissertation or thesis (in PDF).

 

INSERT THE FOLLOWING DATA IN THE BODY OF THE MESSAGE:

  1. Student's name
  2. Date and time of the oral defense
  3. Suggestion of the examining board (full members, substitute members, and guests, if any). All members of the examining board must meet the criteria for accreditation of faculties who advise students: to have published three or more scientific articles in the last three years in the CAPES qualis B1 or A for Astronomy and Physics, excluding articles of Great collaborations.

COMPOSITION OF THE EXAMINING BOARD

Full Members

  • Master examining board: minimum of 3 members (advisor + 1 accredited faculty at IF-UFF + 1 external)
  • Doctorate examining board: minimum of 5 members (advisor + 1 accredited faculty at IF-UFF + 2 externals + 1 external or accredited at IF-UFF)

Substitute Members

  • Master examining board: minimum of 2 members (1 accredited faculty at IF-UFF + 1 external)
  • Doctorate examining board: minimum of 3 members (1 accredited faculty at IF-UFF + 1 external + 1 external or accredited at IF-UFF)

NOTE: We ask the advisor to follow the following format in the examining board request:

Full name of the member / Institution of origin / link for Curriculum Lattes (for external members). Please, inform if the external member will need coverage for travel (include e-mail for contact with the external member) / CPF (to register external members at SUCUPIRA). Attach the curriculum in PDF if the member does not have the Curriculum Lattes.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • We recommend a 05-week advance notice between the request by e-mail from the advisor and the defense of the thesis or dissertation.
  • The co-authors of scientific papers of the student cannot exceed the ratio of 1/3 of the composition of the examining board.
  • After approval of the examining board by the Course Collegiate, the graduate office will send (by e-mail) the invitation letters to the advisor (with a copy to the student), so that they can be sent to the board members.
