The topological phases of matter received much attention in the last years, the study of the properties of the edge or surface states has motivated several works around the world. However, the study of the critical phenomena and effects of the finite size scaling in the vicinity of the critical point has been poorly explored. In this seminar, i will talk about the finite size contribution to the free energy density in the vicinity of the topological critical point. Our results suggest that this contribution to the free energy is asymmetric around of the critical point and therefore can to distinguis the topological phase from trivial one.
