Título: Magnesium Alloy, the Lightest Structural Alloy, its Characteristics and Application

Resumo: Magnesium alloy is the lightest structural metallic material.  Nowadays more and more interests is focusing on research and developing of new magnesium alloy and applications in many industrial fields, such as transportation, consumer electronics and electrical tools. The application of magnesium alloy in automobile industry as parts and components has very important meaning for energy conservation and emission reduction as weight reducing. This report will introduce the latest research activities in our group including high-strength and high-ductility magnesium alloy, refining and casting processes, structural and deformation characteristics,  as well as fabrication and properties of magnesium foam, one new function material.
