Quinta-Feira, dia primeiro de Outubro às 14hs na sala 201.

Palestrante: Markus Huber - Institut für Physik, Graz, Austria.

Título: Using Schwinger-Dyson equations to investigate Yang-Mills theory in the
infrared: scaling solutions, power counting and infrared exponents.

Resumo: The non-perturbative character of Dyson-Schwinger equations makes them a suitable tool to investigate the infrared regime of Yang-Mills theory, which cannot be treated by standard perturbation theory. The basic quantities are the correlation functions of the theory, also called Green functions. Dyson-Schwinger equations relate them with each other by an infinitely large tower of integral equations. Although one needs to truncate the system of equations for a numeric solution, the qualitative behavior at low momenta can be obtained without truncations for the whole tower.
This approach was already successful in the Landau gauge and can be extended to more complex systems of equations like in the case of the maximally Abelian gauge, where the number of terms is already at the level of the propagators eight times as big as for Landau gauge. Thereby a so-called scaling solution is obtained that features an infrared enhanced diagonal gluon propagator, which could be an indication of Abelian infrared dominance.
